Ava monroe
Actor | Artist | Musician
Ava Monroe is a NYC-raised and based actor, musician, and producer. She recently founded Thompson Street Productions, a creative playground for her work across theater, film, and music. Its debut project is Wigs!, a genre-hopping, wig-flipping blend of improv and narrative theater that Ava created and directs with longtime collaborators Diana Rendon and Claire McGinlay.
Ava recently graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she trained at the Atlantic Acting School, Playwright’s Horizons, and studied Brecht and Stanislavsky-based performance in Berlin. Before that, she graduated with honors from LaGuardia High School’s Drama Studio (yes, the Fame school), and has basically been chasing stories since she could talk.
As a musician, Ava’s been writing and performing original rock music since she was a kid — she’s held a residency at The Bitter End since she was fifteen. You can listen to her debut album, A Place to Come Home To, on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
